In a Car Accident?
Call Us First.
Don't wait for symptoms to worsen. We specialize in identifying and treating hidden car accident injuries — and we handle your insurance so you don't have to.
Important: Whiplash symptoms can take 24–72 hours to appear. Don't assume you're fine — get evaluated today.
The Florida PIP 14-Day Rule
Most accident victims don't know this law exists — and missing this deadline can cost you thousands of dollars in medical coverage.
Critical Deadline: 14 Days
Under Florida Statute §627.736, you must seek medical treatment within 14 days of your car accident to qualify for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. Miss this window and your insurance company is legally allowed to deny your entire claim.
What Is Florida PIP?
Florida is a no-fault insurance state. This means your own auto insurance — not the other driver's — pays for your medical bills after an accident, regardless of who caused it. Every Florida driver is required to carry a minimum of $10,000 in PIP coverage.
PIP covers 80% of your medical bills and 60% of lost wages up to your policy limit. Chiropractic care is fully covered under PIP — but only if you see a doctor within 14 days.
What PIP Covers
Your 14-Day Window
Adrenaline masks pain — you may feel fine. This is normal and dangerous.
Whiplash, neck stiffness, headaches, and back pain begin to appear.
This is your window. Call us immediately — same-day appointments available.
After 14 days, your insurance can legally deny all medical coverage. You pay out of pocket.
Emergency vs. Non-Emergency Classification
Florida law also distinguishes between emergency medical conditions (EMC) and non-emergency conditions. If your injury is classified as an EMC, you receive the full $10,000 PIP benefit. Non-emergency conditions are capped at $2,500.
Dr. Plummer can evaluate and document your condition to ensure it is properly classified — protecting your full benefit entitlement.
Don't let the insurance company classify your injury for you. Proper medical documentation from day one is the difference between $2,500 and $10,000 in coverage.
Don't Lose Your PIP Benefits
Call Dr. Plummer today — same-day appointments, all Florida insurance accepted, no out-of-pocket cost.
Car Accident Injuries We Specialize In
These injuries are often invisible on standard X-rays but cause years of chronic pain without proper chiropractic treatment.
Whiplash
The most common car accident injury. Rapid back-and-forth neck movement damages muscles, ligaments, and cervical discs. Symptoms often appear 24–72 hours after the accident.
Post-Accident Headaches
Headaches following a car accident are a red flag for cervical spine injury. They can indicate concussion, whiplash, or nerve damage that requires immediate evaluation.
Back & Lumbar Injuries
The force of a collision compresses the lumbar spine, causing disc herniations, facet joint injuries, and muscle strains that become chronic without proper treatment.
Radiating Nerve Pain
Numbness, tingling, or shooting pain into the arms or legs following an accident indicates nerve compression from spinal injury — a serious condition requiring immediate care.
Spinal Misalignment
The impact of a collision can shift vertebrae out of proper alignment, creating nerve pressure and muscle imbalances that cause widespread pain and dysfunction.
Soft Tissue Damage
Muscles, tendons, and ligaments are often torn or strained in accidents. Without proper treatment, scar tissue forms and creates chronic pain and restricted movement.
Week-by-Week: With vs. Without Treatment
See exactly what your recovery looks like when you get care early — versus what happens when you wait. The difference is dramatic.
Day 1–3
The Accident & First Contact
Without Treatment
- Adrenaline masks all pain — you feel "fine"
